During the week we used our respect skills in class, in the yard and during assembly. We were respectful while we took turns during our maths games – we learned how to play Dominoes and the Tens and Ones game.
Sports’ Day is almost here and we are practising our games and team chants. Here are our chants so we can practice at home – loudly!
We have been learning about vowels and consonants. The vowels are a e i o and u and y is a semi vowel. The other letters in the alphabet are consonants and there are 26 letters in the alphabet. We sing a great Vowel Rap and if you google oz vowel interactive kids, you will find our rap. It’s a You Tube, so again check for advertisements first.
We have been learning about respect – respect for others (good listening, taking turns, thinking about our golden rule), respect for our environment, and self-respect (doing our personal best, being fair and making strong and helpful choices).
In Science we have been doing some work in Biological Science and have been learning about “What makes a fish a fish?” (Most fish have scales, they live in water, they breathe underwater using gills, they have a backbone and are cold-blooded). We looked at how gills help fish get oxygen underwater, and now we will look at how some of these features are different and the same in other animals. We will also look at what different features (fins, tail, gills) are used for and therefore how do other creatures move around/breathe and steer?
Big Numbers Song. We have been learning about patterns in numbers and doing lots of counting. After 100 there are more number patterns each time you add a zero – 100, then 1000, then 10,000…..
